Formative Assessment:
Formative Assessments are the assessments that you do during learning to get a gauge of where your students are in their learning! Here are some of my personal favorites to use! I hope this helps if you are in need of some during learning assessment ideas!
1. Entrance/Exit Tickets: Entrance and Exit Tickets are super easy and something that are very easy to incorporate and give you a great idea of where your students are in their learning! I personally print off all of my exit tickets at the same time that way I have them whenever I need them! I will share the template that I use below.
2. Blooket: Blooket is definitely a fan favorite for students because it feels like a game, which I love because I love to see my kids learning and having a great time! Blooket is a quiz game that asks students questions and if they get it right then they move up in the game it’s giving you their knowledge while also allowing them in have fun and stay engaged.
3. Round Robin: I use this to get an idea during group learning it’s were each student from a table shares their learning with each other or the group. It’s working to together to share the answer and gets everyone involved!
4. Journal Entry’s: These are super easy to do and can be done with notebook paper and let you know what your students are thinking and where their heads are. Students write down the answers to the questions and hand them in.
5. Think Peer Share: Students pick a partner and share their learning one at a time. I love to walk around and listen to the discussions during this time to see what they’re talking about and make sure that they are on the right track!

Summative Assessments:
Summative Assessments are the assessments that you do at the end of learning to look at student growth to see what they know and what they still need help on. It also helps you as a teacher to look at where you could be improving! Here are some of the Summative methods that I use:
1. Final Projects: Final Projects can be a range of things. This allows students to get creative as long as it’s within that criteria. It allows students to create and make art that goes along with what they learned to show and explain their learning from the unit. This is personally one of my favorites because it allows the students to get creative!
2. Multiple Choice Tests: I still use this method. Do I love it… absolutely not, but it is a way to see where your students are by asking them question. I do modify in my room so that students have all the time that they need and they can redo if needed so that they truly learn the material.
3. Socratic Seminar: This is something that I did in high school that I now do and it’s were you explain you learning to the group I know that this was definitely something that was out of my comfort zone when I did it but it really did help me break through the presenting barrier and I was definitely sure about what I was talking about.
4. Creating Infographics or Posters: This get students to share information and also allows them to create this is a great method and I love displaying these around my room.
5. Creating a Slideshow and Presenting: This gets students out of their comfort zones. I also have a mic in my room and that makes it all the more fun. It shows learning and also helps to work the classroom family aspect because you work teaching respect. It also allows the others students to learn more about the topic.
